“My body is healed. My body is whole. I am worthy.” You’ve heard a term used for people who have a life changing experience and they receive “a new lease on life.” What about receiving two!? On this weeks show business man Michael Collins talks about his journey with God. It began with living in rebellion against God, living a life of the flesh and doing what he wanted to do, with who he wanted to do it with. One day, in an aisle at Walmart, little did Michael know that the meeting of a stranger would change the entire trajectory of his life. Just when he thinks his journey couldn’t take any more twists and turns, Michael receives a phone call on Labor Day weekend from his doctor that sends him down the path he never imagined, physically or spiritually, which resulted in having his hand held by God in his most painful moment, and he’s here to talk about it!

Liminal – relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process, a threshold. Many men (and women) are content to live a life of the “seen”. What we see is what we need to be concerned about. How many friends do you have? I’m not talking about social media numbers, I’m talking about friends you can call when your world is falling apart and you need someone there for you. When life seems to be squeezing you and you need a hand or word that breathes life into your sails. A person who knows all your junk, and still is willing to meet with you. Got them in mind? Ok, now, when was the last time you sat down with that person to talk about life? A week ago? A month? How about regularly for the last 24 years? On this week’s show, Kurt and Chad welcome Brad DeVries and Glenn Bednardzyk to talk about doing life with a group of men - a band of brothers for over 20 years. Guys who meet every week for a couple hours to hear from one another, encourage one another, and sometimes, lovingly, put a finger in there chest when need be. This is not just accountability, but life-giving friendship. Paul had Barnabas. Who do you have? (this episode is a repeat from August, 2019 - enjoy!)

When you hear the word discipline what comes to mind? Often it’s in a negative connotation, as in disciplining your children. But what about spiritual discipline? The root word for discipline is “disciple,” as in being a disciple of Christ. Praying, reading the Bible, going to worship are all staples in most Christian’s lives. But how can the spiritual disciplines be soul transforming in the life of a believer - as a lifestyle - not just a weekly event. On this week’s show, 37 year seminary Professor David Roadcup, along with 3 of his past and current students, talk about spiritual disciplines and the relationship between Gods grace and our effort. (This is a repeat of an episode in August, 2018 - enjoy)
