    02/10/2020 Duração: 02h09min

This crazy 2020 may be slowing the world down. But the good folks at Relapse Records are staying busy as ever. They've had another metric metal tonne of awesome releases and we've done our best at covering them. But - Wow!! So we find ourselves with the pleasure of presenting not one but two amazing "Creature Features" from the Relapse roster. The new Primitive Man album "Immersion" is killer and we got Ethan McCarthy on the horn to discuss it. As well, labelmates Realize just dropped their latest platter of industrial metal madness, "Machine Violence". We spoke with Kyle Kennedy (Sex Prisoner) to get the 411 on the all the going ons in his camp. • Episode 624: Great Scott! - interview with Scott Pingel of the San Francisco Symphony

Episode 624: Great Scott! - interview with Scott Pingel of the San Francisco Symphony

    25/09/2020 Duração: 02h49min

Last episode we had an amazing "Creature Feature" whose roots lay in the heyday of The Bay Area. Seven days later, we return to that hallowed scene. In a roundabout way. The Metallica camp is rocking and rolling with the release of "S&M2", the metallers second collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony providing a fresh spin on some old faves. One of the highlights is the contribution of Symphony bassist Scott Pingel. Mr. Pingel was bestowed the honour of performing the beloved "Anethesia" bass solo. So this proved to be the perfect time to get Mr. Pingel's thoughts on the project. Unbelievable!! But the fun doesn't stop there. In our "Sidestage" interview, we chatted with our old friend Sue Decree as her Digregorio project's new release is about to drop. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we sign a petition for the Boss HM-2 pedal and call out trump for his ironic use of CCR's "Fortunate Son". Finally we crank some tunage from Johannson and Speckmen, All Pigs Must Die, D.O.A., and Mongrel's Cross. Whew!

Episode 623: Hexxellent!! - interview with Hexx

    18/09/2020 Duração: 01h58min

It's always exciting when some one from the legendary Bay Area joins us. Hexx may not roll off the tip of the brain like some of their contemporaries. But they were in the thick of things going back to the glorious demo days of '83. Now in 2020, the band is showing no signs of letting up. The new album "Entangled in Sin" just hit the new release rack. So it's time to talk with axeman/mainman Dan Watson. We go over the new record, share some Bay Area goodness and finally... we found someone with something positive to say about the controversial Wild Rags (!!) Records. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we give the Horns to Necrot for all their recent Billboard success. Musically, we crank the new Hexx + cool stuff from Messiah, Spell Book, Iron Reagan, Laaz Rockit, Toxic Death and introduce North Dakota's Gorgatron in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns and Stay Healthy. Episode 622: Casting Spells - interview with Incantation

    11/09/2020 Duração: 02h23min

The whole "This person/place/thing needs no introduction" is a cliche. But its none the less true for this episode's "Creature Feature". The legendary Incantation has been a death metal flagwaver, standardbearer, and trailblazer since '90. And axe/vox John McIntee has been there from the get go. Our chat with Mr. McIntee is long overdue. But no better time like the present as the band has dropped their 12th (!!) killer full lengther  in "Sect Of Vile Divinities". We go over said record, discuss his side projects, and he shares is wisdom of the Metal world. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we pay tribute to some fallen RAM alum and share our Record Store Day booty. Musically, our former co host Roch joins us to review the new Great Kat. As well, we crank some Incantation both new and classic + some Power Trip, Apartment 213, Shed the Skin, Tribe of Pazuzu, and Nocturnal Departure. In our "Indie Spotlight" we welcome the returning Endast!! Horns Up and Stay Healthy! This Episode is sponsored by Trve Kvlt Coffee

Episode 621: Triple Death Threat - interview with VOTOV

    28/08/2020 Duração: 01h58min

If nothing else 2020 has been a banner year for Canadian death metal trio VOTOV. In one some way, shape or form, we've been following these hometown heroes for some three decades. Now the pay off is upon us. The band just dropped their label debut album "I.X.X.I." Courtesy of the fine folks at CDN Records. So now in a long over due "Creature Feature", we caught up with the guys at the Fiery Gates Ov Hell!! Ok, it was their rehearsal space. Chuck LaBossiere (axe/vox), John Duke (bass) and skinsman Derek Kroll let us in on the whys and wherefore of said album, their unique monicker, and we discussed making Heavy Metal history!! Spoiler Alert: definite potential Rammy territory here! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss the "We Summon The Darkness" Netflix flix and some Quiet Riot. In tribute to the immortal Frankie Banali. Musically, we crank the new record + new Skeleton, Reserving Dirtnaps, Decayed Flesh, Assimilation and Sadistic Embodiment. Horns Up and Stay Healthy! Episode 620: Necrock 'N Roll - interview with Necrot

    21/08/2020 Duração: 02h07min

Right now, Tank Crimes recording artists Necrot are most deserved darlings in the Metal underground. The new album "Mortal" is set to drop and is already all the buzz. These Oakland bashers are no strangers to the RAM offices though. We've been hyping them from the get go, pushing their last record with main man Luca Indrio. This time 'round though we tapped drummer Chad Gailey. Not only for his brilliance on said record, but we've been luvin' his other projects Mortuous and Vastum as well. So we got Mr. Gailey on the horn and he gave was the 411 on all things Necrot. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss Metallica at the drive inn (!) and sign a petition for 1cent per stream pay outs from Spotify. Musically, we crank the new Necrot, some more Mortuous, Votov, Ghoulhouse, Dystopia, 2 Minute Minor, and Sadistic Intent. In our "Indie Spotlight", we feature Boston grinders Stagnater! Episode 619: Rockett Man - interview with Onslaught

    14/08/2020 Duração: 02h51min

With the world in upheaval right now, a lot of people might just be ready to throw in the 2020 towel. Pop culture might be taking a beating but the wonderful world of Heavy Metal is still Deliverin' The Goods!! Case in Point - the  killer new record from legendary British bruisers Onslaught. "Generation Antichrist" is already in contention for "Album Of The Year" around the RAM offices. Onslaught mastermind Nige Rockett was eager to come back on the show and give us the low down. We discussed the modernizing of their Satanic lyrics, their (non) spot in NWOBHM, and reminisced about the polarizing "In Search Of Sanity" album. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we get deep into the recent controversial statement from spotify's CEO and make a Last Will and Testament for Snowy's music collection. Episode 618: Smile For The Mic - interview with East Bay Ray (Dead Kennedys, Killer Smiles)

    07/08/2020 Duração: 02h01min

It may say "Metal" on the marquee, but we've never shied away from covering all genres of heavy music. Punk rock legends Dead Kennedys are an outfit we practically grew up with. Upon their demise, Jello Biafra remained on our radars thru his spoken word performances. But admittedly, the rest of our "Fab Four" kind of fell off our radars. Until now. We had the golden opportunity to speak with DKs axeman East Bay Ray as his new(ish) project The Killer Smiles recently dropped their latest record. Another "Bucket List" moment as we discussed KS' album "Raising The Stakes", the differences between his projects, and Mr. Ray shows he still has the punk rock spirit. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we crank some killer tunes from said Smiles, Messiah, Thundermother, and of course some classic DKs. In our "Indie Spotlight", we head to LaLaLand some some brutal death metal with Bloodfeast Ritual. Honrs Up and Stay Healthy! This Episode is sponsored by Trve Kvlt Coffee. Episode617: Happy Back In Black Day

    30/07/2020 Duração: 02h18min

Despite a number of pokers in the interview fires, we decided to forego all in favor of acknowledging a very important rock n roll milestone. As we sat down and pressed "record", one of the most influential records for any genre celebrated it's anniversary. AC/DC's "Back in Black" turned the Big 4-0. So now's the time to go over this monumental album discussing our own personal whys and wherefores, sharing our memories revolving around it and throwing out some cool trivia. No matter how "kvlt" or underground you are, admit it, you had/have a copy. We weren't totally without an interview though. We had a quick "Sidestage" interview with Winnipeg skate punks Six Outta Ten in our "Indie Spotlight". In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we sign the petition to get SNFU legend Chi Pig onto Canada's Walk Of Fame and discuss some "Fuzz Face" and "Big Muffs" (!!). Finally, we crank some tunage courtesy of Impiety, Baptists, Disavowed, and Faceless Burial. Horns Up and Stay Healthy!!   This Episode is sponsored by Trve Kvl

    Episode 616: The Twitter Trap

    24/07/2020 Duração: 02h04min

No "Creature Feature" = no pro-blem-o! We may not have an interview subject to grill, but there's still plenty of meat on this week's bone to gnaw on. First off, we compare and contrast the handling of this covid crisis at live shows in the US (Great White) compared to Switzerland (Destruction). Also, twitter has been all the rage in the Metal World as we go over the recent Chris Jericho/Sebastian Bach debacle. As well, we go over why trapt had abysmal first week sales. Some people just need to keep their twitter traps shut! To help figure all this out we enlisted the expertise of Shit Happens drummer/Ninjacat Productions dude, Dustin "Ducky" Maruca. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we pay tribute to the legendary Chi-Pig (SNFU). Musically, we crank tunage from Mortuous, Live Burial, Entry, Manhole, of course some SNFU, and introduce Arizona's The Exiled Martyr in our "Indie Spotlight"! • Episode 615: Spirit On Radio - interview with High Spirits

Episode 615: Spirit On Radio - interview with High Spirits

    17/07/2020 Duração: 01h36min

The story of Chicago rockers High Spirits is kind of unique. Led by the amazing Professor Black, the outfit doesn't even really consider themselves Metal. They have their own self coined description of "high energy rock". But they actually came to the attention of the underground via Hell's Headbangers (??!!). So if they come recommended by the good folks at HH, then we've got to check 'em out. Bonus that their new record "Hard To Stop" courtesy of High Roller Records just dropped as well. So we sat down with the Good Professor to discuss the new album, working with Hell's, and his incredible three album and two EP 2018. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss combating covid and Tom Araya...in his PJs (??!! again). Musically we crank the new HS, some Professor Black solo, label mates EVO (Warfare), plus new tunage from Power Trip, Defeated Sanity, Solanum, Inhumed and introduce Canadian fvckers Turbo in our "Indie Spotlight"! • Episode 614: Hoof Fetish - interview with Cloven Hoof

Episode 614: Hoof Fetish - interview with Cloven Hoof

    10/07/2020 Duração: 03h01min

We first discovered NWOBHMers Cloven Hoof as young 'uns going Metal full time. The Hoof's monicker and imagery convinced us to grab their '84 debut sound unheard. W've been HoofHeads ever since. With their latest album "Age Of Steel" dropping among the chaos, it was a opportune time to get main Hoofman Lee Payne on the horn. We discussed the new record, their spot in British metal history, and he shares the strange occurrences recording the aforementioned debut. Eerie stuff! Another long overdue "Bucket List" interview. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss the recent attempt-at-being-PC-and-relavent name changes from David Lee Roth and dixie chicks. Musically, we crank the new Hoof, Satan, Destructor, Abigail, Lantern, Witch Taint (!!) and introduce TX deathsters Torture Tomb in our "Indie Spotlight"! Horns up and Stay Healthy! Episode 613: Hello Newman - interview with CDN Records

    03/07/2020 Duração: 02h32min

As dedicated fans (first) of our beloved genre we like to think we have a pretty good grasp on everything going on. All the whos, whats, whys, and wheres of Heavy Metal, past and present. But there's just soooo much going on that it's impossible to keep track of everything. Still, we're embarrassed to say Canadian underground Metal label CDN Records only came to our attention just last year. We first met CDN head honcho Craig Newman on the streets of Montreal at the Quebec Deathfest. Fast forward and CDN has a slew of cool new releases burning up our stereos. So now's the time to talk shop with Mr. Newman. We discussed everything about this underground phenom and get to know the man himself. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we go deep on censorship and capitalism in the scene. Musically, we crank CDN recording artists Goreworm, Votov and Bastard Son. Plus Kruelty, Bloodcum and Culted! Episode 612: Oh The Insanity! - interview with Insatanity

    26/06/2020 Duração: 02h36min

When death metal veterans Insatanity announced their comeback full lengther "Hymns Of The Gods Before", we got excited. When it was announced they signed onto good friends of the show CDN Records for it, we were thrilled. When we managed to get bass/vox Chris Lyle on the horn, we went delirious! During our chat with Mr. Lytle we discussed the aforementioned record as it was hitting the racks at that very moment. As well we discussed landing on CDN, the band's glorious Unisound daze, and he introduced the killer new line up!! It was insatane!! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discussed our world re opening post (sorta) covid. And we make our picks to play Lemmy in the upcoming biopic! Episode 611: For The Recently Deceased - interview with King Fowley (Deceased)

    19/06/2020 Duração: 02h40min

Deceased are up to their old tricks again. Going through their vast discography it's obvious they're not afraid of the odd cover tune. As evident by their "Rotten To The Core" and "Cadaver Traditions" cover comps. So now with the "Ghostly White" album cycle in the books, good friend of the show Mr. King Fowley, is putting their down time to some good use. Thus "Rotten To The Core...2." So we got His Kingliness on the horn to discuss this latest project as well as a few other things like the band's run in Chris Barnes back in the day. King's always good for a story or three. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we weigh in on the Tom Morello/ignorant fans situation and cast our votes to get Oderus Urgungus immortalized in Richmond. Musically, we crank some Deceased, Cauldron Black Ram, Carrion Vale, Wraith, Final Conflict, Nunslaughter, and of course, Gwar!! Finally, we introduce Canadian black metaller Hellmoon in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns!! This Episode is sponsored by Trve Kvlt Coffee. Summon the coffee demo

Episode 610: Soundin' Pretty Good - interview with Ronnie Atkins of Pretty Maids

    12/06/2020 Duração: 02h30min

Danish legends Pretty Maids have been on our radar since their '84 debut. The band always stuck out amongst the underground as they were one of the few bands hailing from Denmark. Throughout the 90's, as hard rock bands took a hit, Pretty Maids continued to thrive. And are still killing it today. PM's latest live album "Maid In Japan: Back The Future World" is still fresh on the racks. So it's a good time to scratch another off the old Bucket List and speak with mainman Ronnie Atkins. We discussed the whys and wherefores of the new live package, their unique monicker, and the old days of the Copenhagen scene. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss the upcoming Record Store Day(s) and call out "Zebraman" from the old Heavy Metal Parking Lot!! Musically, we crank the latest ventures from Pretty Maids, new Poltergeist, Tokyo Blade, Steve Grimmett's Grim Reaper, Killitorous, Oxygen Destroyer, and introduce new Winnipeg D.I.Y. label Frozen Hell Records in our "Indie Spotlight". Episode 609: Twisted Splitter - interview with Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome, Pounder)

    05/06/2020 Duração: 02h38min

We always dug the idea of split albums. It showcases two artists for the price of one and aids in the discovery of great new artists. Even better are you dig both artists. Better still when both bands are fronted by someone you'd call "friend". Metal meister Matt Harvey is fronting a fistful of great bands. His most notable being Exhumed and Gruesome. "Twisted Horror" is an awesome new split from both outfits, so we again called up our old buddy. We discussed all the deets that went into the creation of this (somewhat) unique album. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we go deep into the chaos across America right now and pay tribute to Bob Kulick. Musically, we crank some tunes from Exhumed and Gruesome, as well as new Xibalba, Anonymous, Dereketa. and Sacrifice. Horns and Stay Healthy! This Episode is sponsored by Trve Kvlt Coffee. • Episode 608: Angus Who? - interview with ACXDC

Episode 608: Angus Who? - interview with ACXDC

    29/05/2020 Duração: 01h55min

During the 80s "Satanic Panic", a certain Australian hard rock band came under fire for their monicker. Fast forward years later and California powerviolencers ACXDC took the concept and ran with it. We got stoked when the grinders signed on with Prosthetic Records and jumped at the opportunity to speak with vocalist Sergio Amalfitano. At that very moment the new album "Satan Is King" was being put out on the racks. Gotta love happy accidents. Mr. Amalfitano was quick to explain the history of their unique name and the concept of the new record. Great stuff in another long overdue chat. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we celebrate a shared Bday with some classic records. Musically, we crank the new ACXDC, Vader, Oz, Ulcerate, WVRM, Werewolves, Tombstoner, Pile of Priests (!!), and introduce Canadian thrashers Torrefy in our "indie Spotlight". Horns and Stay Healthy! Episode 607: Metal Makes Us Feel Good - interview with Lord Vigo

    22/05/2020 Duração: 01h25min

German metallers Lord Vigo should be on your radar for a number of reasons. #1. We recently played them. #2. Their unique monicker really stands out. As does their unique epic doom meets NWOBHM sensibilities sound. #3, and most importantly, they've got an awesome new album "Danse De Noir" on the racks courtesy of the good folks at High Roller Records. So now's the time to get vox/(studio) drummer Vinz Clortho on the horn. We talked the new record, their new home, and their obvious love of sic-fi. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we talk bloody armpits (??!!) and crank tune from the new LV plus Sinister, Raspberry Bulbs, Power From Hell, Slaughter Messiah, Infernal Execrator, and introduce Florida doom rockers Northern Crown in our "Indie Spotlight". Episode 606: Dave's Right Here, Man! - interview with Slasher Dave (Acid Witch, Slasher Dave)

    15/05/2020 Duração: 01h49min

Slasher Dave is probably most familiar to our listeners as the mainman behind the amazing Acid Witch. But every great artist has a strong versatility to their art. So when Dave's not killing it with his main gig, his alter ego Slasher Dave creeps out. Dave's love of all things Horror is never more evident than with the cool sounds this project conjures up. SD's music is his own instrumental interpretation of classic horror flicks. Case in point - his new album "Cannibal Death Gods" is a beautiful homage to the jungle cannibal flicks of yesteryear. So now's a great time to yack with Dave about the whys and wherefores of this record including the concept and what drives his unique art. Of course, we get an update on Acid Witch as well. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we celebrate Motorhead Day (the 8th of May) with a toast to Lemmy himself. Musically, we crank the new Slasher record plus some Acid Witch, Sarcofago, Devangelic, Horrific, Holocausto, and introduce South American deathsters Reptilium in our "Indi
