  • Light vs Darkness

    Light vs Darkness

    11/10/2020 Duração: 48min

Brother Danny shares 1 John 1, verses 5 through 10 this morning. In this passage John deals with the truth that Christians have to choose whether to live in darkness, or live in the light. The first principle in our text is that God is pure light, there is no darkness in Him, at all. The second principle is that mankind has a problem (sin) that must be overcome, and that can only come by the third principle. God’s forgiveness enables us ot walk in the light. /// Scripture: 1 John 1:5-10 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: October 11th, 2020 | Running Time: 48:48

  • What We Have Seen

    What We Have Seen

    04/10/2020 Duração: 58h12min

Brother Danny takes us into the book of 1st John this morning, with a look at John’s introduction in verses one through four. In these passages, John prepares his readers to defend against the coming gnostic heresy which eats away at the core of Christianity. In our time, this warning is just as important, as there is much confusion about Jesus Christ. As in John’s day, we have to remember that true fellowship within the body is impossible apart from the source of that fellowship, whcih is Jesus. That fellowship can become a fountain of real joy in our lives. /// Scripture: 1 John 1:1-4 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: October 4th, 2020 | Running Time: 58:12"

  • Gods Gifts for Our Climb

    God's Gifts for Our Climb

    27/09/2020 Duração: 59min

As Brother Danny concludes our study off the Book of Habakkuk with chapter 3, verse 19, he shows us three principles from this one passage, two which are explicit in the text and one that is inferred by the text. The first principle is that God grants His children a source of strength for their journey. The second explicit principle of the text is that God grants His children stability for their path. And finally, As Habakkuk noted the musical conditions for this work to be sung in corporate worship, God grants His children a call to guide others as we travel along the path. /// Scripture: Habakkuk 3:19 | Speaker: Bro. • Joyful Faith

    Joyful Faith

    20/09/2020 Duração: 54min

This morning, Brother Danny takes us through Habakkuk chapter 3, verses 16-18. In these passages, Habakkuk gives us three lessons regarding our faith. The first lesson is that waiting quietly on the Lord can result in a heart of hope. The second lesson is that when we are honest about our circumstances can cause us to rely on the Lord. Finally, when we remember who God is, we can have joy in the toughest of times. /// Scripture: Habakkuk 3:16-18 | Speaker: Bro. • Salvation

    13/09/2020 Duração: 50min

Brother Danny takes us further through the third chapter of Habakkuk this morning, with a message of hope. In our passage for today, Habakkuk recals the mighty deliverance of God as he brought his people from their bondage in Egypt, through the wilderness, and into the promised land. With his eye on God’s faithfulness in the past, he turns his eye towards the future and God’s continued promise of deliverance for his people. Likewise, we can look back on the finished work of Christ and know that, as Paul says in Philippians, he who began a good work in you will see it through to completion! /// Scripture: Habakkuk 3:3-15 | Speaker: Bro. • A Change of Heart

    A Change of Heart

    06/09/2020 Duração: 49min

As Brother Danny takes us into the third chapter of Habakkuk, we see a change of heart in the prophet, from the angry and indignant questioning of the first two chapters to the heartfelt plea for mercy that we find here in chapter three. In these first tow verses of the chapter, we learn that God is instrumental in this change of heart, by three actions: First, by making Himself known through his word. Second, by the work that He does in our lives. Third, God changes our hearts by humbling us and leading us to desire mercy for others. /// Scripture: Habakkuk 3:1-2 | Speaker: Bro. • Silence

    30/08/2020 Duração: 49min

This week, Brother Danny wraps up our look at the book of Habakkuk with what may be the most important and overlooked command in all of scripture. Over and over again, God’s people have to be reminded that God is in control, He is on his throne, and we need to be silent and trust him. /// Scripture: Habakkuk 2:20 | Speaker: Bro. • Hopeless Idols

    Hopeless Idols

    23/08/2020 Duração: 53min

This morning, Brother Danny shares with us two verses that are seen, not only in Habakkuk, but visible in every book of the Bible. Over and over, God’s people are warned away from idolatry, and over and over, we can see that warning is ignored, at our own peril. Even though we may not carve idols from wood or cast them from gold, the idols of work, relationships, money, and power can and do often lead us astray. /// Scripture: Habakkuk 2:18-19 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: August 23rd, 2020 | Running Time: 53:52

  • Cruelty

    16/08/2020 Duração: 55min

As Brother Danny continues leading us through the book of Habakkuk, we look at verses 12 through 17 of chapter 2 this morning. Woes to the cruel. In this passage, God’s prophet pronounces calamity against the Babylonians for their cruelty to their enemies. There are three aspects of this cruelty that are called out by the prophet. The first aspect of cruelty comes from our selfish desires. The second comes from our mocking heart. The third from the human thirst for violence. However, lest we think that these woes do not apply to believers, Brother Danny also shares scripture written specifically to the church that talks about the same issues. /// Scripture: Habakkuk 2:12-17 | Speaker: Bro. • Hubris

    09/08/2020 Duração: 57min

This morning, as Brother Danny continues leading us through the the book of Habakkuk, our focus is on chapter 2, verses 5 through 11. In this passage, God’s prophet warns the Chaldeans (Babylon) against the danger of arrogant pride, or hubris. But, before we can say that the warning doesn’t apply to us, we should also note that there are many places in God’s word where this same warning is given to God’s people. An attitude of Hubris refelcts a mindset of arrogance, leads to the exploitation of others, and ultimately results in a shame filled judgement on the one who is so arrogantly prideful. May this sin be far from the people of God. /// Scripture: Habakkuk 2:4a-11 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: August 9th, 2020 | Running Time: 57:17

  • Wait for It

    Wait for It

    02/08/2020 Duração: 48min

As Brother Danny continues leading us through the prophecy of Habakkuk, this week’s focus is on the suficiency of God’s revelation. God’s revelation speaks to His purpose in this world, in His timeline. Since His revelation is true, it is trustworthy, and will come to pass, though it requires us to have patience. As we let God work his purpose in our lives, we must also exercise faithfulness while we wait for His plan to come to fruition. /// Scripture: Habakkuk 2:2-5 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: August 2nd, 2020 | Running Time: 48:11

  • But Its Not Fair

    But It's Not Fair

    26/07/2020 Duração: 49min

As Brother Danny continues leading us through Habakkuk’s prophecy, he reminds us of three principles from Habakkuk’s writing that will get us through those situations when it’s just not fair. First, we need to hold onto the basic principles of our faith; remembering that God’s characvter never changes. Second, we must be willing to have a much-neded conversation with God; not just a safe prayer, and not just a list of ailments. Finally, We need to keep our hope in the God who responds to our cries for help. Even when things are not fair in this world, we serve the One who always brings about the best for those who love Him. /// Scripture: Habakkuk 1:12-2:1 | Speaker: Bro. • Doing the Unexpected

    Doing the Unexpected

    19/07/2020 Duração: 52min

As brother Danny continues walking us through the prophecy of Habakkuk, this morning we are reminded that God does things that sometimes don’t make sense tous, as His people. He may (and often does) use calamity, suffering, and hardship to trun His people from their own stiff-necked understanding and ways and turn them back to him. /// Scripture: Habakkuk 1:5-11 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: July 19th, 2020 | Running Time: 52:38

  • Why

    12/07/2020 Duração: 54min

This morning, Brother Danny begins an exposition on the Prophecy given to Habakkuk, beginning with the first four verses of chapter 1. In these verses, we learn that there are times of apparent silence from God, and that sometimes we struggle with understanding how and why God allows evil to go unpunished, and his people to suffer. But we also learn that God is always working for the best for his people, no matter how much we have been disobedient and hard-hearted ourselves. God has not left us without hope. ** There was a probelem with the video this morning, somehow the camera came unplugged** /// Scripture: Habakkuk 1:1-4 | Speaker: Bro. • A Parting Wish

    A Parting Wish

    05/07/2020 Duração: 51min

** Note ** There is a break in audio at the 29 minute mark, as the Pastor’s microphone batteries died. ** Note ** This morning, Brother Danny wraps up his exposition of Paul’s letter to the Ephesian believers with a look at Paul’s closing statements. After all that Paul has taught in this letter, it is obviousl that he desires not only this church, but all of the churches to reach out and care for one another, to help bear each other’s burdens, and to show love to our fellow believers as we labor for the kingdom of God. May we all follow this admonition. /// Scripture: Ephesians 6:21-24 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: July 5th, 2020 | Running Time: 51:50

  • The Battle Is Engaged

    The Battle Is Engaged

    28/06/2020 Duração: 56min

This morning, as Brother Danny continues leading us through Paul’s letter to the Ephesian Christians, we look at this passage often referred to as “The Armor of God.” As Danny looks at each of the Elements of this armor, he reminds us that we are not expected to fight spiritual battles in our own strength. Rather, we are to trust in the all sufficient strength of our Father. Additionally, we are to use the armor that God has provided us in order to withstand the assault that will come as we walk in obedience to Christ. And finally, we are not to neglect the importance of praying for those who walk beside us in the battle as well. When all is said and don, the Christian is commanded to STAND! /// Scripture: Ephesians 6:10-20 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: June 28th, 2020 | Running Time: 56:16

  • Labor and Management

    Labor and Management

    21/06/2020 Duração: 55min

As Brother Danny concludes Paul’s discussion about Christian relationships, we cover an especially pertinent passage in chapter 6, verses 5-9. In this passage Christian bondservants (slaves, workers) are admionished to remember that their true master is Christ. Likewise, Christian masters (owners, employers) are also admonished to remember that the Lord is master of their lives as well, and Christians are calld to be different than the world in the way they treat others. /// Scripture: Ephesians 6:5-9 | Speaker: Bro. • Must the Generation Gap Win

    Must the Generation Gap Win

    14/06/2020 Duração: 56min

As we continue through Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, Paul continues his look at the Christian life and how it correlates to our relationships, today with the emphasis on the parent-child relationship. Even though the original readers of Paul’s letter would have been very familiar with the concept parental authority, Paul reminds these Christian children that is it right to obey their parents “in the Lord.” He also advises parents to not lay expectations and standards upon their children that would drive them to anger and wrath, and could potentially drive them away from serving Jesus. /// Scripture: Ephesians 6:1-4 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: June 14th, 2020 | Running Time: 56:59

  • The Key to Being a Godly Husband

The Key to Being a Godly Husband

    07/06/2020 Duração: 47min

Following Paul’s thought that Christian relationships ought to be built on a foundation of mutual submission and love, Brother Danny shares with the church from Ephesians chapter 5, verses 25-33. In this passage Paul explains to his readers that, in the marriage relationship, husbands are commanded to sacrificially choose to demonstrate love towards their wives in an active way. There is no room for tyranny or selfishness when you model your love after the love of Christ for the church. /// Scripture: Ephesians 5:25-33 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: June 7th, 2020 | Running Time: 47:03

  • Is Submission a Four-Letter Word?

    Is Submission a Four-Letter Word?

    30/05/2020 Duração: 42min

After completing his instruction on putting off and putting on, Paul shifts to another theme, that of mutual submission among believers. He begins with his thesis - “submit to one another in love” - and continues by looking at the implications for several human relationships. The first up is husband and wife, and Paul starts by expressing how that looks from the wife’s perspective. Many in the faith have taken these verses to mean things that they do not mean; Bro. Danny explains how submission is a must in the lives of all believers, and how biblical submission is neither about inferiority nor force. /// Scripture: Ephesians 5:21-24 | Speaker: Bro. Danny Nance | Date Recorded: May 31st, 2020 | Running Time: 42:34
