NPJ Talk Radio welcomes Pam Swanson from Lions Camp Tatiyee

    21/01/2017 Duração: 01h00s

A Note from Pam My name is Pam Swanson and Lions Camp Tatiyee stole my heart in 1984. The year the then Director walked into my classroom at Arizona State University and showed a video of Lions Camp Tatiyee, I knew I absolutely had to be a part of such an amazing place. I came every summer through college and actually met my husband there. After teaching special education for 10 years and receiving my Masters in Administration Supervision, I accepted the job as Executive Director. I spend 10 weeks every summer away from home, with our kids at camp. All three of our kids have grown up at camp. All the good things, the things that matter in my adult life, have begun with Tatiyee. I have been the Executive Director since 1996. Mission Statement: Camp Tatiyee’ s mission is to enrich the lives of individuals with special needs by providing a life improving experience promoting their emotional health, independence, self esteem and confidence, all free-of-charge. Vision Statement To provide a community

NPJ Talk Radio welcomes Restore Arts brought to you by Carolyn Sechler CPA PC

    04/01/2017 Duração: 01h00s

In a time when the quality of education is judged by the strength of student test scores, Restore Arts serves to bring inspiration, passion, and imagination back into classrooms. The increased importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) topics within students’ education has overshadowed the equally important components of passion and imagination. We believe that students find passion in their education through the arts, whether they are music, visual arts, creative writing, or dramatic performance. Students in Arizona need and deserve the experience that art in the classroom creates, but fine arts are the most frequently cut and undeservd classes when budgets run thin. Art and creative development can both advance academic achievement and improve life experiences in ways that test scores cannot. Restore Arts strives to use the experience of our Founders to create projects and programs that will use the arts to connect communities with classrooms and improve the life experiences
